I brewed my first batch of beer in a dorm room at the University of Washington while earning an engineering degree. Like most American Head Brewers, I crafted many batches of homebrew before stepping foot in a commercial brewery. Since 1993, my wife and I have enjoyed living in Leavenworth where we've raised our two boys. In the summer, I enjoy windsurfing; in the winter, I enjoy backcountry skiing; and I enjoy good beer regardless of the season. Besides brewing Icicle Brewing’s year-round beers, I love thinking about our next seasonal offering.
Tasting Room Manager
I started working at Icicle Brewing Company about a month after it opened. I had a summer break in between my service with the AmeriCorps, and I thought the brewery would be a fun summer job. I never imagined that I would someday become the manager! For starters, I didn't always like beer. I was; however, quickly and efficiently indoctrinated into the microbrewery culture when I tasted my first pumpkin ale. The microbrewery community welcomed me with open arms, and now my heart lies with craft beer. I love traveling to new breweries both in the US and abroad with my sweetheart William. When I'm not working or traveling, I love to listen to records or curl up with a good book, a cup of milky black tea, and my pet hedgehog Theodore.
Food and Beverage Manager
My yearnings for adventure have taken me many places, and yet, I always relish coming home! While it's fun to see new lands, sample strange cuisines, meet people, and of course, taste new brews, I love my Cascadian mountain town and the people that dwell here. For me, quality of life is intricately tied to those I share it with, and often all that’s needed is good food, good laughs, and of course, GOOD BEER! From our delectable brews, to our high quality local menu, to the ways in which our “brew family” and friends create community in and beyond our mountain town, it’s no wonder that Icicle Brewing Company has captured my heart! Here’s to the flavors, conversations, and community you’ll find in each pint; PROST!
In 2001, we (Oliver, Pamela Brulotte and our children Gabrielle, Joshua & Elise) were fortunate enough to move to Leavenworth, Washington. At that time we built and opened München Haus Bavarian Grill & Beer Garden, www.munchenhaus.com. Operating a beer garden has opened our eyes to the amazing craft brews available around the world and especially the Northwest, and we take pleasure in having the opportunity to share these with our customers and enjoy them ourselves. With our love of beer and Oliver’s family history of hop farming that spans four generations, it was a natural fit to want to produce fresh, delicious, local craft brews. There is nothing more Bavarian than having a brewery in your own town, so after a family trip to Germany, we realized what a great addition a brewery would be to the beautiful “Bavarian Getaway” that we call home. We look forward to providing you with a craft beer experience that will excite your senses, quench your thirst, expand your horizons, and keep you coming back for more!
